As a member of the Project Management Chapter, the Global Project Manager (GPM) is crucial for optimized product delivery. They are accountable for all project management aspects of diverse projects, ranging from simple to complex. The GPM guides projects and products from their initial concept to completion by developing and directing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, spending, resource plans, and status reports. Acting as a trusted advisor, the GPM translates and drives projects into products, enabling the organization to utilize energy and time effectively and efficiently while rapidly adapting to evolving business needs across the portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree BS/BA (from an accredited institution) in engineering related fields
  • 5+ years project management experience in hardware product development and product care projects
  • Understanding of hardware development lifecycle (concept to commercialization) and instrument design, prototyping and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile development practices and mindset
  • 1+ years of experience in a regulated industry (e.g. FDA 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving & conflict management skills with the ability to synthesize information to identify relevant insights that will advise improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills with an established ability to drive decisions in relation to project execution and resource needs
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, facilitate and effectively communicate issues proactively to a wide range of stakeholders, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficient and demonstrated experience using Planisware, MS-Office, G-Suite
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Trello, LucidChart, Smartsheet, Jira, ADO, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with ambitious milestones
  • Demonstrated good strategic and tactical thinking
  • Ability to transfer knowledge across projects, programs or Lifecycles
  • Profound understanding and knowledge of relevant Design Control and/or Phased Development processes
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of healthcare quality, risk, and/or regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (from an accredited institution) in engineering related fields
  • 6+ years project management experience in diagnostics and medical device hardware product development
  • Leading SAFE, Safe for HW or equivalent Scaled Agile certifications
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience collaborating with external partners on R&D development projects

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end project delivery including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and progress tracking.
  • Create integrated plans with clear dependencies and resource allocation.
  • Select and apply appropriate methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or traditional).
  • Execute project processes, manage milestone reviews, and implement best practices across teams.
  • Lead meetings, facilitate knowledge sharing, build team dynamics, and coach team members.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Portfolio, Functions) to optimize delivery.
  • Establish KPIs/OKRs, measure progress, and report results.
  • Serve as a central data hub providing holistic planning insights, scenario analysis, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Identify risks and bottlenecks, analyze implications (budget/timeline/scope), challenge assumptions, propose solutions, and communicate issues proactively to stakeholders.
  • Lead improvement initiatives and develop team capabilities through feedback and skill-building.
