Global Program Manager
About The Position
We are scaling faster than any complex hardware company ever and are looking for a Global Program Manager to join our dynamic organization to continue to innovate and execute at scale. This role will serve as a primary catalyst for operational excellence and report directly to the Head of Program Management. The role will be based 5 days a week in person at company HQ in San Jose, CA. Bloom Energy's mission is to make clean, reliable energy affordable for everyone in the world. With roots in NASA’s Mars Program, the company’s founder, chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. K.R. Sridhar, developed an innovative fuel cell technology that is shifting the energy paradigm and redefining the electric power market. The Bloom Energy Server is a distributed electric power solution built for the digital age and capable of delivering highly reliable, uninterrupted, 24x7 constant power that is also clean and sustainable. Requirements
- High EQ person
- Knows how to solve problems in the real world from first principles
- Extremely organized and can confidently communicate Program status and risk mitigation strategies to CEO level leadership with little notice
- Disciplined and regular report out of all aspects of internal programs to executive leadership
- Can talk the talk with a highly technical engineering manager, then walk in to the next meeting and close out commercial contract topics with the sales team
- Focused career on getting things done, not playing organization politics
- Minimum 6 years of program management in a technical function or complex hardware focused organization in the power and technology industry
- Evidence of exceptional execution managing cross function teams on extremely tight timelines with limited resources
- Experience operating from scrappy startup phase to fortune 500…ideally in the same company
- B.A./B.S. required, preferred in Engineering: Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Nice To Haves
- MBA is a plus
- PMP, Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certifications
- Scheduling software programs: Microsoft Project, ERP and MRP systems
Responsibilities
- Execute programs that will improve quality, reduce costs and accelerate the speed that we deploy hardware to some of the largest fuel cell projects on the planet
- Working with cross-functional teams to align on the goal, assign appropriate resources and execute on the fastest possible timelines
- Build and institutionalize best in class program management methodologies including Stage-Gate process, OKR management and Agile methodologies
- Identify and remove systematic barriers that impede program development speed and efficiency
