About The Position

Define and own the global digital standard for inventory control across Gas Power Global Supply Chain. This role owns inventory policies, the digital tools that govern and monitor those policies, and the systems that support execution. Works closely with the Integrated Planning and Production Planning GPDAs to ensure planning parameters reflect current inventory policy, and ensures inventory health information is visible, accessible, and actionable for decision-makers across the network. Define and own the global digital blueprint for inventory control: how inventory is classified, monitored, governed, and optimized across all sites. Establish the global standard and partner with local inventory control teams to adopt and implement it consistently. Partner closely with the Integrated Planning GPDA and Production Planning GPDA to ensure inventory policies and planning parameters are aligned. This role defines the policy framework and digital tools that execute it. Partner with the Warehousing GPDA on physical inventory alignment, owning the systems and tools for annual physical inventory execution across factory warehouses. Process Scope, Technology & Digital Technology Partnership Own the digital standard for inventory classification and policy execution: ABC-XYZ analysis automation, classification refresh cycles, and how classification changes trigger updates to planning parameters and replenishment strategies in ERP. Own the digital standard for inventory health monitoring and governance: Inventory Quality, Slow Moving and Obsolete identification and disposition workflows, excess inventory management, and inventory accuracy reporting. Ensure inventory health data is visible and actionable for planners, buyers, and operations leaders without requiring manual analysis. Own the systems and tools for annual physical inventory: how wall-to-wall counts are planned, executed, reconciled, and reported across factory warehouses and distribution centers globally. Define and drive automation of routine inventory decisions: automated classification reviews, exception-based alerts for inventory health deviations, automated Slow Moving and Obsolete flagging, and AI-enabled safety stock optimization. Evaluate and incorporate AI-enabled tools in partnership with the New Technology Introduction team. Own the integration standard between inventory control systems and ERP. Partner with the Master Data Governance team to confirm inventory classification data, Plan for Every Part parameters, and planning fields align to global data standards before go-live. Co-own application selection and solution design with Digital Technology and the New Technology Introduction team. Site Network, Adoption & Continuous Improvement Build and coordinate a global network of site-level inventory control process owners and subject matter experts who implement and sustain the global standard locally. Lead a formal Community of Practice across inventory control teams to drive standard adoption, share optimization learnings, and prevent inconsistent classification practices from undermining planning accuracy. Serve as the primary escalation point when sites diverge from the global standard. Monitor inventory control outcomes: Inventory Quality Ratio, Slow Moving and Obsolete value, inventory accuracy, and classification coverage as primary measures of standard adoption. Conduct process walks with inventory teams at each site before deployment to validate readiness. Develop training materials and job aids aligned to the global standard, and support pilot and deployment phases in partnership with the Digital Program Manager. Ensure lessons learned from each site are incorporated into the global standard so every subsequent deployment improves on the last.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in inventory management, materials management, or supply chain planning in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with direct accountability for inventory policy or operational improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory control in ERP environments, including SAP Materials Management or Oracle Inventory, covering classification management, planning parameters, and physical inventory processes.
  • Proven experience defining inventory policies and driving adoption across multi-site networks.
  • Experience translating inventory management requirements into functional specifications for technology teams.
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with large datasets to identify inventory health patterns and drive corrective action across a global network.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ABC-XYZ classification methodology and its application to safety stock, replenishment policies, and Plan for Every Part frameworks.
  • Experience with inventory optimization tools or AI-enabled demand sensing platforms in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to physical inventory planning and reconciliation processes across factory and distribution center environments.
  • Lean manufacturing background; understands the relationship between inventory policy, operational flow, and working capital performance.
  • Comfortable operating in a role where the primary value is making complex inventory data simple and actionable for frontline decision-makers.
