About The Position
Mars is seeking agile, curious, and collaborative students for a Global Pet Nutrition Packaging R&D Co-Op position. This internship offers the opportunity to lead and execute global packaging innovation projects, plan and coordinate packaging testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. Interns will also coordinate the creation of high-quality prototypes, support the development of innovative packaging concepts, and communicate project progress through technical reports and presentations. The role is based in the Franklin, Tennessee area and is ideal for students passionate about engineering and the consumer products industry.
Requirements
- Agile, curious, and collaborative students with a drive for results and a desire to learn.
- Ability to quickly build relationships.
- Passion for engineering and the consumer products industry.
- Desired majors include Packaging Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- Eligible candidates will be junior or seniors.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment.
- Responsible for personal transportation to and from work site during duration of the internship program.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute global packaging innovation projects under the guidance of packaging associates.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute packaging testing to evaluate material performance, functionality, and feasibility for commercial applications.
- Collaborate with cross functional global and regional teams, as well as external suppliers, to develop technical solutions and support project delivery.
- Coordinate the creation of high-quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability, influence stakeholders, and facilitate collaboration.
- Support the development and evaluation of innovative packaging concepts.
- Communicate project progress, technical findings, and key learnings through technical reports and presentations.
- Present project outcomes and recommendations to R&D leadership at the conclusion of the co-op.
