About The Position

The Human Capital Management (HCM) organization within HII Mission Technologies has an opportunity for a Global Mobility Specialist. This role is central to the creation and operation of the Mission Technologies Global Mobility Center of Expertise (COE) and will provide division-wide governance, consultation, and operational support across all global regions. The Global Mobility Specialist will report to the Director of Employee Relations, Global Mobility, and HR Technology & Intelligence. This position offers a hybrid work schedule based in either our Fairfax or Virginia Beach, VA locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in HR operations, OR Master’s degree and 4+ years of experience in HR operations.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in global mobility program support.
  • Strong project management capability with experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information to diverse global stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify processes while maintaining strict compliance and operational integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Mission Technologies global mobility program, ensuring centralized governance, compliance, and consistency across all business groups.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of mobility policies, templates, and tools aligned with the COE framework.
  • Serve as the enterprise-level subject matter expert for mobility governance, risk mitigation, country requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Partner closely with Regional Specialists/Points of Contact (Africa/South America, Australia/AUKUS, Asia, Europe) to ensure consistent execution of global mobility strategy at the regional level.
  • Support new assignment and bid activities, including cost considerations, risk evaluation, and country-specific advisory for U.S. government contractor personnel.
  • Provide escalation support to Regional Specialists, offering guidance on local nuances, regulatory updates, and best practices.
  • Manage employee assignments end‑to‑end, including onboarding, assignment changes, repatriation, and OCONUS deployment support.
  • Centralize and streamline domestic and international relocation processes, ensuring smooth transitions for employees and their families.
  • Administer expatriate compensation structures, allowances (e.g., housing), benefits coordination, relocation reimbursements, and tax equalization activities.
  • Ensure contract, immigration, relocation, and payroll compliance in alignment with COE standards and legal requirements.
  • Act as primary point of contact with Legal, Corporate, and HR Partners to address country requirements, visa/work authorization needs, and employment regulation changes.
  • Oversee vendor management across relocation, immigration, tax, and payroll providers, ensuring service excellence and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Global Payroll, Corporate Tax, Legal/Risk Management, and regional offices to ensure seamless mobility support.
  • Partner with HRIS and HR Technology & Intelligence teams to develop system capabilities, optimize data tracking, and produce accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate with external relocation providers to deliver high-quality, employee-focused relocation experiences.
  • Collect feedback from employees and stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance the mobility experience and improve process efficiency.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects that strengthen global mobility operations and COE alignment.
