About The Position

The Department of Global Engagement strategically aligns several critical internationally focused units bringing together Education Abroad, Global Partnership Services, and International Student and Scholar Services. As a hub of resources and partnerships, Global Engagement fosters the University’s commitment to solving the world’s most pressing problems through a focus on transformational international education and research that serves our local communities and the world at large. We are seeking a dynamic and detail oriented Global Learning Program Manager to lead the day-to-day administration of key global learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will excel at planning, organizing, and managing complex programs; developing effective procedures; and driving projects that support the mission of the Department of Global Engagement. We’re looking for someone committed to advancing global learning and contributing to the internationalization of Texas A&M University through innovative, high impact program management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related work experience.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience with leading or serving on committees and working groups, and experience coordinating efforts between various entities.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • May require lifting and/or moving of moderate weighted objects.

  • Active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators or other organizations focused on international education.
  • Knowledge of international education.
  • Knowledge of higher education systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development, planning, implementation, and coordination of global learning programs and initiatives targeted to students, staff, and faculty such as Global Engagement’s First-Year Experiences courses, Global Career Accelerator, Intercultural Development Inventory, skills-building, intercultural training, and digital credentialing.
  • Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support global learning programs.
  • Assists with annual budgetary and contract processes related to global learning programs.
  • Serves as the university’s administrator of the Peace Corps Prep program.
  • Develops a general marketing and recruitment plan for the program.
  • Manages the application and selection process and monitors student progress through the program.
  • Advises participants on program requirements.
  • Monitors and tracks retention and completion rates of students and Peace Corps acceptance rates for graduates.
  • Confirms program completion and organizes a recognition program for graduates.
  • Responsible for the management and advisement of the Aggie Global Guides student ambassador program.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong collaborations with internationally focused student organizations and groups.
  • Manages the development of and provides support for the university’s International Community Council.
  • Assists the director in establishing short and long-term goals and strategic planning.
  • Establishes objectives, outcomes, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees daily fiscal and purchasing activities and assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs, initiatives, and events.
  • Assists in identifying funding opportunities.
  • Collects data to assess and evaluate programs.
  • Develops and updates training materials and delivers training to stakeholders.
  • Leads team development and supervises full-time program staff, graduate assistants, student employees, and Aggie Global Guide executive team members.
  • Works with administrators, staff, and students across the department and University to promote and implement the University's global engagement strategy.
