About The Position

Baxter is launching a new growth platform focused on biologics manufacturing and pharmaceutical partnership services. We are seeking an experienced commercial leader to help build this business from the ground up. Reporting to the VP, Strategy & Business Development, the Sr. Director, Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Development will play a pivotal role in defining the strategy, commercial model, customer engagement approach, and growth trajectory of the new service. This leader will help shape the long-term architecture of the business while serving as the commercial lead for Baxter's emerging U.S. biologics services offering. This is a unique opportunity for a highly entrepreneurial leader who combines business development expertise with strong technical, regulatory, and program leadership capabilities. The successful candidate will build strategic relationships with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, secure foundational partnerships, and help establish Baxter as a trusted partner in biologics manufacturing. The role offers a clear pathway to broader business leadership opportunities as the platform scales globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or business discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences, or related industries.
  • Significant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial leadership, alliance management, or program leadership.
  • Demonstrated success building executive-level customer relationships and driving complex commercial engagements.
  • Strong project management, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD).
  • Experience in biologics, sterile injectables, CDMO, contract manufacturing, or pharmaceutical development environments.
  • Working knowledge of biologics manufacturing, aseptic processing, GMP requirements, and global regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience launching new businesses, services, platforms, or strategic growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Baxter's U.S. biologics services business.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior leaders across pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
  • Identify, qualify, negotiate, and close strategic development partnerships and future manufacturing opportunities.
  • Partner with internal manufacturing, quality, regulatory, technical, and supply chain teams to develop customer solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts supporting proposals, due diligence, technology transfer, and commercialization activities.
  • Help define service offerings, business processes, operating models, and growth strategies for Baxter Pharma Partners.
  • Represent Baxter at industry conferences, customer meetings, and executive forums.
  • Contribute to the long-term development of a global pharmaceutical services business.
