GE VernovaCambridge, MA

About The Position

GE Vernova is the world’s leading energy technology company, purpose-built for one of the most urgent and complex global challenges: delivering the reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity needed to power communities, industries, and global progress. As AI, manufacturing, and electrification drive unprecedented power demand, energy has become one of the world’s defining innovation frontiers. GE Vernova was built for this moment, with a singular mission: Electrify to Thrive and Decarbonize. Spun out of GE and launched as a standalone company in 2024, GE Vernova combines the focus and speed of a startup with more than 130 years of energy innovation experience. Today, approximately 25% of the world’s electricity runs on our technology, which is deployed across 140+ countries and spans the full energy ecosystem. Our name reflects both our legacy and our ambition. We carry forward the trusted legacy of GE, a badge earned through decades of engineering excellence. “Ver” and “verde” reflect the lush, verdant planet we are committed to protecting. “Nova,” from novus, signals a new era defined by innovation, reinvention, and momentum. Across Power, Wind, and Electrification, our businesses work together to accelerate the transition to more sustainable energy while helping ensure the reliability the world depends on. Our work powers economies, supports communities, and delivers electricity that is vital to health, safety, and quality of life. Together, we have The Energy to Change the World, and we’re just getting started. The energy sector is undergoing its most significant transformation in a century — and in a category crowded with sameness, brand is a competitive moat. As Global Head of Brand Governance & Operations, you will be the architect and operator of the systems that protect, scale, and strengthen the world's leading energy technology brand. This is not a brand police role. It is a brand enablement role: building the governance frameworks, operational infrastructure, and decision rights that allow thousands of employees, agencies, and partners worldwide to express the brand consistently, compliantly, and creatively — at speed and at scale. As a member of the Global Brand Marketing leadership team, you will sit at the intersection of brand strategy, legal, digital, and business operations, and serve as the connective tissue between our brand vision and its execution across every region, business unit, and touchpoint. The role also provides Chief of Staff support to the Global Head of Brand, contributing to the planning cycles and executive communications that keep a global brand organization and its global stakeholders aligned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years in brand management, brand operations, or marketing operations, ideally with experience at global Fortune 500 organization.
  • Deep operational fluency: DAM platforms, brand portals, workflow tools, design systems, and marketing technology including cutting-edge AI technologies.
  • Proven ability to influence at the executive level and operate across Legal, IT, Procurement, HR, and global business leadership.
  • Track record of building measurement systems that connect brand consistency to business value.
  • Exceptional judgment in balancing brand protection with business enablement — you know when to hold the line and when to flex.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in energy technology, industrial technology, infrastructure, consulting or other complex sectors.
  • Chief of Staff or business operations experience supporting a senior executive — planning cadences, executive communications, and strong judgment with sensitive organizational matters.
  • Experience navigating brand in regulated, safety-critical, or government-facing environments.
  • Experience leading and inspiring distributed global teams across time zones and cultures.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the global brand governance framework: brand architecture rules, co-branding and partnership guidelines, sub-brand and endorsement policies, and decision-rights models (RACI) across regions and business units.
  • Partner with Legal/IP on trademark strategy, brand protection, licensing, and infringement response across global markets.
  • Serve as a lead representative and liaison to the GE Aerospace Brand Governance team (who own and manage the rights to the GE trademark) and deliver on sub licensee reporting requirements. Assure compliance with the TMLA (trademark license agreement). Foster an ongoing dialogue and relationship with GE Aerospace brand team.
  • Govern brand use in high-stakes contexts: M&A integration and divestiture rebranding, joint ventures, sponsorships, and government/regulatory environments.
  • Be a trusted advisor for the organization, ensuring brand ideas get proper consideration, develop a network that is deep and broad encouraging employees to seek your council. Inspire brand zealots across GE Vernova.
  • Lead the global brand operations function: digital asset management (DAM), brand portal/design system, templates, and self-service tooling that make on-brand execution the path of least resistance.
  • Define and manage brand technology roadmap, including AI-enabled content creation guardrails — governing how generative AI tools are used to produce brand-compliant content at scale.
  • Build and run intake, workflow, and approval processes for brand reviews; establish SLAs that balance rigor with business velocity.
  • Own agency and vendor operations for brand: roster management, onboarding, briefing standards, and performance frameworks. Including GE Vernova’s online shop for promotional merchandise.
  • Manage brand health and compliance measurement: audits, scorecards, and KPIs that quantify consistency, adoption, and brand equity impact — and translate them into an executive-ready narrative for the C-suite and Board.
  • Run periodic global brand audits across digital, physical, product, and environmental applications; drive remediation plans with regional and BU leaders.
  • Supporting the annual planning cycle and leadership team operating rhythms — agendas, priorities, decision logs, and lean management.
  • Assisting with brand function operations: budget tracking, OKR/goal-setting processes, and quarterly business review preparation.
  • Contributing to executive-level materials — Board and C-suite presentations, strategic narratives, and internal communications that articulate brand's contribution to enterprise strategy.
  • Support select Tier 1 tentpole event moments as special projects and cross-functional leadership opportunities (e.g. brand campaign launches, custom activations like Innovators Toy Drive and Playland).
  • Support the delivery of global brand education: training curricula, certification programs, ambassador networks, and onboarding for employees, agencies, and channel partners.
  • Support change management for brand evolutions, refreshes, and rollouts — sequencing, communications, and adoption tracking across a complex global footprint.
