Requirements

  • Certification as a Customs Specialist (e.g. Certified Customs Specialist or Customs Broker License)
  • Experience with trade agreements (e.g. Free Trade Agreements, USMCA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations, procedures and documentation requirements
  • A degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in customs clearance and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and trade compliance procedures
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software (Oracle)
  • Competence to explain complex regulations in simple, clear language while maintaining a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities

  • Realization of potential savings through the optimization of the supply chain and the associated customs burden
  • Preparing and submitting customs declarations and other required documentation
  • Communicating with government agencies to resolve customs-related issues
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all customs transactions
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with customs regulations and the commerce control list
  • Classifying and valuing imported goods in accordance with customs regulations
  • Staying up-to-date on changes in customs regulations and procedures
