About The Position

Amex GBT is seeking a creative, expert, detail-oriented, and strategic Global Client General Manager (CGM) to support key clients in the Media and Entertainment Industry, including Production, News, Sports, Music, and Theatricals. The CGM will serve as the primary point of contact for a dedicated account, focusing on identifying and delivering new opportunities, driving client and traveler satisfaction, creating strategic solutions, promoting Amex GBT’s entertainment-specific capabilities, acting as an entertainment travel subject matter expert, and retaining and growing the entertainment practice. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the travel industry, client needs, and competitors, working collaboratively to exceed client expectations and support their product delivery (news, sports, film, TV production). The position is virtual, based in the US or Canada, requires East Coast hours, and involves 10-20% travel. Technical knowledge of Travel Management Company (TMC) operations is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Passion and excitement for the unique needs of entertainment clients.
  • Proven success and demonstrable positive results in global account/client management and/or Project Management experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of Media and Entertainment Travel.
  • Proven success in upselling products, services, and solutions, increasing client revenue and profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement growth strategies, build action plans, and set goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions addressing the outstanding needs of entertainment travel.
  • Proven innovative problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, prioritization, and planning skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to handle objections and achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain a comprehensive network, both internally and externally, to successfully navigate client organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn, understand, and articulate key product and value proposition knowledge in a variety of contexts.
  • Strong financial acumen required to leverage key drivers of profitability.
  • Strong business acumen required to communicate the Amex GBT value proposition.
  • Previous large market/multinational client/global experience preferred.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the Global Business Travel marketplace.
  • Travel Operations knowledge required.
  • Solid understanding of Business Travel Service Delivery technology/tools and processes.
  • Advanced software skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required.
  • No TMC experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the client’s strategic objectives, key drivers of success, organizational culture, and business objectives.
  • Provide guidance to customers in assessing goals and strategies to transform and optimize their program.
  • Identify unique travel needs for news, sports, film, or TV production, and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and improve the traveler/arranger experience.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for the client's program structure and its fulfillment at Amex GBT.
  • Establish partnerships with key business constituents (Global Business Consulting, Client Services, Service Delivery, Implementations, Group Management, and GMN colleagues).
  • Build a web of influence at key levels within the account and among affiliate studios/networks/theatrical BUs.
  • Complete strategic account plans focused on identifying groundbreaking business opportunities that enhance and optimize the customer experience.
  • Lead the improvement of Amex GBT's value proposition through consultation, technology road mapping, and optimizing online servicing solutions.
  • Lead business planning, quarterly and annual reviews, regional pricing strategies, and ongoing P&L management for the account.
  • Research the marketplace and competitor products and services to highlight Amex GBT's value proposition, using MI, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
