About The Position

Water Tech, a dedicated team within Veolia, focuses on complex challenges related to water scarcity, quality, productivity, and energy, aiming to create a more sustainable future. The Global Category Leader - Flow, E&I, a remote role based in Europe, reports to the Global Category Management Team Leader. This position is responsible for a circa ~$80M spend portfolio, involving the development, validation, and implementation of global Procurement strategies for sub-categories within this portfolio. The role requires collaboration with Procurement Project/Product Leaders, Regional Category Leaders, Technology, and Supply Chain Leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or time-served experience
  • Solid experience in Category/Supplier Management, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, Product or Project management
  • Experience in procurement of items in Flow, Electrical and Instrumentation Category
  • Ability to travel - estimated to be 30% annually
  • General understanding of Direct material categories and water treatment technologies (products and operations)
  • Familiarity with market trends and key suppliers in the relevant Categories
  • Knowledge of Supply base for Valves, Pipes & Fittings, Instruments, Analyzers, RO Pressure vessels
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of developing presentations and comfortable interacting with internal/external stakeholders and Water Tech senior management

Responsibilities

  • Define a Global Category Strategy for assigned Categories that drives continuous improvement within the Category and benefits to the business
  • Develop/Manage Preferred Supplier Network and Strategic Suppliers
  • Define Contracting Strategy and lead Supplier Negotiations
  • Drive Cash Improvements across assigned Categories
  • Mitigate Risks to the business by driving a comprehensive strategy that builds a flexible supply chain and ensures continuity of supply
  • Develop Best Cost Country strategy
  • Drive supplier relationship management processes
  • Report to Leadership on Market Trends and Category Performance
