About The Position

Our focus is on patients and understanding the critical role our medicines play to produce better health outcomes. As a cross functional team of experts, we create and execute comprehensive market access strategies through the integration of pricing and reimbursement, health technology assessment, evidence-based medicine review, and health economic modeling activities. Your expertise and innovative approach will enhance the value of our medicines and the impact to patient outcomes. In collaboration with the cross functional team, deliver recommendations relating to Comirnaty Vaccine price and access strategies, payer strategy, pricing and reimbursement, evidence generation and value proposition, taking into consideration market archetype and lifecycle considerations. Lead strategy development and tactical execution to accelerate access for Comirnaty, drive differentiation with competitors and shape tenders to reflect the true value of Comirnaty Lead/support the timely development and updates of launch deliverables including the Global Payer Value Proposition (PVP), Global Pricing and Access strategy and related payer research Generate & synthesize payer insights through the creation and maintenance of expertise in payer regulation and priorities across major countries / archetypes across the globe: Assessment and communication of external access trends to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities Gather and synthesize feedback for development programs with health technology assessment agencies, payers, and relevant patient associations Lead early engagement work with prioritized Value & Access stakeholders Partner with the International Commercial Organization team members to incorporate ex-US county insights and feedback into Value & Access strategy and planning activities Support country Health and Value colleagues as they engage local stakeholders on access and pricing for the Comirnaty Vaccine, by providing training, advice or connecting with experts as appropriate Identify new opportunities for value creation based on an understanding of healthcare systems and the potential benefits of mRNA Vaccines. Develop innovative or original ideas, lead division projects and develop plans that achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact Identify innovative Value & Access solutions to overcome current/future obstacles to vaccine funding & uptake Champion the Payer and Value perspective internally and improve understanding of payer needs Support strategic goals of the Comirnaty Vaccine Team to ensure optimal reimbursement and patient access Remain fully compliant to all Pfizer SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in a healthcare, business or economic field preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of drug development processes, and technical knowledge of health economics and pricing/access required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry, in vaccines, or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the global payer and Value & Access environment
  • Expert understanding of fundamental Value & Access methods & tools for US and key ex-US markets including, but not limited to: Development of value-based pricing strategies Development & maintenance of payer value propositions & global value dossiers
  • Experience in functioning within matrix organizations where managing through influence is required
  • Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
  • Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development and interaction with customers
  • An “execution mindset” focused on getting things done quickly and simply
  • Ability to work under pressure, to take accountability for business challenges, think strategically and tackle complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (multitask) involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities in a compliant manner

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with health technology assessments (such as NICE, SMC, PBAC) is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of epidemiology, health economics and outcomes research and real-world evidence frameworks/tools
  • Experience in Sales & Marketing Payer Marketing, strategy development, Operations & Implementation, Payer & reimbursement dynamics, Vaccines & seasonal Flu will be strongly preferred
