About The Position

Dartmouth Health’s Department of Surgery is searching for a Glaucoma Specialist to join our established academic practice. This position will provide medical and surgical eye care for our academic medical center, educational support for DHMC training programs, and will contribute to the academic mission of the group. The role will provide patient care at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH as well as outreach at one of our nearby community hospitals, Mount Ascutney Hospital, in Windsor, VT. The candidate will be expected to provide medical and surgical care for glaucoma patients as well as cataract surgery. Board eligibility/board certification in Ophthalmology and completion of a glaucoma fellowship is required. This position will also have opportunity to develop an independent research program. Multiple research opportunities are available in collaboration with The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and the Thayer School of Engineering. The successful candidate will be engaged in the clinical and surgical teaching of ophthalmology residents as well as medical students. They will be eligible for an academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with qualifications. Requirements

  • Board eligibility/board certification in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of a glaucoma fellowship is required
  • Must hold MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of New Hampshire and Vermont
