Glass Installer (Glazier)
About The Position
As a Glass Installer on the Portland Glass team, you will be responsible for installing flat and/or automotive glass to meet industry standards. This role involves reading and understanding blueprints and specifications, following safety precautions for handling glass and materials, operating a company vehicle safely, and professionally explaining the installation process to customers. The position also includes a variety of work responsibilities that combine hands-on technical skills with computer/administrative tasks. Portland Glass, with over 34 locations throughout the Northeast, is known for its excellent and reliable glass repair and replacement services and is part of the Neighborly family. Requirements
- Proficient use of hand tools
- Works well with technology, including office computers, phones, and equipment
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test, per applicable state laws
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift minimum of 75 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Prior carpentry experienced preferred but not required
- Carpentry related skills a plus (accurately reading a tape measure, safely using power tools, ability to read blueprints, excellent coordination, knowledge of basic construction math)
