AFTERNOON SHIFT - GLASS ASSOCIATE Direct Hire $20/hr -PROFIT SHARE AND BENEFITS
About The Position
We are seeking experienced individuals for our Glass Associate position in a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant that produces coated and tempered residential glass. This role is ideal for those with machine operation experience in a production environment, who are hands-on, possess problem-solving skills, and take pride in producing high-quality finished products. As a Glass Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for loading and offloading glass onto the production line. Opportunities for cross-training and skill development are available and will be compensated. You will work collaboratively within a team to meet daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing goals. Cardinal Glass operates as a drug-free workplace, and all new hires must pass a pre-employment drug screening and a fit-for-duty physical. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, organized and positive warehouse environment
- Ability to frequently lift glass that may weigh up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week plus optional overtime
- Attention to detail and good time management skills
- Experience using machines in a production environment
- Hands-on abilities
- Problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Place glass on bungees, secure glass on racks
- Pack A-frames and prepare racks for shipping
- Maintain cleanliness at the line, sweeping and clearing glass as necessary
- Assist in other departments as needed to support team efforts
- Perform tempering break test for quality assurance
- Clean up broken glass throughout the shift to maintain a safe work environment
- Clean out space under the furnace (performed every 3 months)
- Ensure safety measures are in place at all times
- Maintain a high rate of productivity
