About The Position

With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a GL Accountant I . Position Summary Assist in the accounting and financial management of Sargent Companies including general ledger reconciliation, month-end and year-end reporting. Perform detailed budget analysis, depreciation calculation and projections, and tax reporting. Process and reconcile inter-company transactions and allocation of corporate spending.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or 4 years of equivalent work experience in the related field.
  • Good written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office suite products (e.g., Word, One Note, Outlook).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, suppliers and the general public.
  • Organized and extremely detail-oriented.
  • Ability to perform a large volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Experience using general ledger/ERP software and tools, Infor Syteline and Quantum is a plus.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the general ledger for Sargent companies (shared services) as required including journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Assume responsibility of cash management for Sargent companies; perform all bank reconciliations on a weekly basis.
  • Process and reconcile intercompany cross-charges and allocation of corporate spending on a monthly basis.
  • Complete all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements through the RBC Bearings reporting system.
  • Compare and analyze actual results vs. forecast, provide detailed explanations of variances on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor in providing financial information/analysis as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
