About The Position

Objectives To assist with the inventorying, planning, application, and maintenance of the Delaware SWCD’s natural resource program. Essential Functions Manages and updates the District’s GIS datasets using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Ensures new project features are added to GIS in a timely and accurate manner. Edits existing GIS datasets as necessary. Manages (create, update, and maintain) SWCD databases using MS Access and/or Excel. Participates as part of a team in the management of the District’s asset management system to ensure completeness and accuracy. Provides quality maps and graphics to District staff, partners, and the public. Assists in the engineering design of District projects. Builds maps, manipulates geographic databases, queries, and analyzes such information to fulfill GIS related requests. Provides training to District staff to assist in performance of day-to-day work activities. Develop workflows to facilitate the conversion and/or interoperability of CAD and GIS data. Conducts site reviews, inspections, investigations, and analytical visits and completes reports. Explains conservation practices using straightforward narrations of facts and descriptions. Develops weekly schedule, tracks daily work, and makes own appointments. Compiles daily and weekly reports for time and cost accounting as well as monthly reports to Board of Supervisors. Ensures equipment is in good working order. Ensures accurate inventory of related supplies. Maintains records of completed work. Works closely with resource conservation staff and administrators to develop budgeting, staffing, and annual reporting recommendations. Understands topography, soil types, aerial photography, geography, vegetation, and other features. Maintains cooperative working relationships with all agencies and land users. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Attends various training sessions, teleconferences, webinars and workshops. Performs typing, word processing, and related computer operations. Works additional hours outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required. Observes all District policies and procedures. Prioritizes work and practices effective time managementresultingin good qualityand quantityofwork. Sets and meets deadlines, effectivelymanages multiple job duties and asksfor assistance when needed. Provides accurate, timely and professional assistance to partners, landowners and general publicin a mannerthatheightens the District’scredibilityand visibility. Promotes a positive, cooperative, and non-discriminatory atmosphere thatsupportsa safe and productive workingenvironment. Performs any related essential functions as required. Other duties as assigned. Creates and maintains web maps and applications in support of District programs using ArcGIS Online suite of development tools (Experience Builder, Survey123, Field Maps Designer, QuickCapture, Dashboards, StoryMaps) and/or custom applications.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on District business at all times, including insurability.
  • Associates degree and five or more years of experience preferred, or high school diploma or equivalent with seven or more years experience.
