About The Position

The tasks listed below represent much of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Creates and modifies ReWa GIS data. Reviews GIS data and maps for accuracy and completeness and performs necessary revisions to GIS data. Extracts and compiles various data from the GIS databases. Develops and modifies procedures for GIS data creation, editing, and data sharing. Processes all updates to spatial location and attribute data received from engineering department and consultants, as well as other departments: regulatory services, infrastructure services, operations. Mains physical and digital record drawings. Develops and modifies procedures for the handling and storage of record drawings and the process of creating, receiving, and organization of digital record drawings. Builds, maintains, modifies, and supports ESRI ArcMap Web Map application. Mains and customizes the organization’s GIS databases. (ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS). Documents, designs, develops, and supports workflows and processes to be implemented in the organization’s GIS database. Generates advanced queries and reports utilizing asset management system data and provides accurate and timely information for the operation, maintenance, and capital improvement of the organization’s infrastructure. Administers the organization’s ArcGIS Online account used to design, test, implement, and support mobile applications for data collection and viewing. Creates and plots maps for use by ReWa departments. Conducts research of official records concerning property, and utility easements/rights-of-way. Performs analysis of GIS data and provides reports to all requesting ReWa departments. Attends meetings, training, workshops, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills. Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, or closely related field.
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience with ArcGIS.
