You will be a key member of the Data & GIS team, working closely with our Land Management teams to support real, on-the-ground environmental outcomes across the Taranaki region. Your work will directly contribute to improving water quality, biodiversity, and sustainable land use by ensuring high-quality spatial data, tools, and insights are available to those delivering land management programmes. In this role, you will take an active lead in the development, improvement, and support of GIS solutions used by Land Management Officers. This includes designing and enhancing mobile data collection workflows, supporting field staff to confidently use GIS tools, and delivering geospatial analysis and reporting that informs planning, monitoring, and decision-making. You will work across the ESRI ecosystem, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and Field Maps, and will have opportunities to apply automation and data transformation tools such as Python and FME to improve efficiency, data quality, and consistency. The role blends technical GIS expertise with strong collaboration, allowing you to translate spatial data into practical, usable outputs for non-technical users. This position offers variety—combining system improvement, user support, analysis, and collaboration—with the satisfaction of seeing your work directly influence positive environmental outcomes.
