About The Position

WR has an opportunity for a GIS Software Engineer, Basic to support the design and development of geospatial/geographic information systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages. Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Designs and develops geospatial-based software with an emphasis on: Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), Backend logic and databases. Supports the development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of GIS software applications. Conducts software debugging and performance tuning to improve application functionality and performance.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree, conferred or currently in the final year of a program, in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
Three (3)+ years of relevant software development experience.
Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts, including: Object-oriented programming, Design patterns, Multi-threading, Inter-process communication, Buffering, Persistence.
Solid understanding of data filtering, present-time filtering, future-time predictions, and interpolation/smoothing methods.
Ability to conduct performance tuning and debugging.
Experience with C++, C#, and/or Python programming.
Proficiency in a high-level programming language, with C++ and/or C# preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience with ASP.NET, Blazor, .NET Core, and/or Mono is beneficial.
