About The Position

Our client is a top geospatial technology company supporting U.S. Government and Intelligence Community customers by providing spatial intelligence to help decision makers and operators navigate current events and anticipate future developments. They are seeking a GIS Operations Officer to offer geospatial analysis and visualization support to senior U.S. Government intelligence and policymaking stakeholders. This role is crucial for time-sensitive missions, demanding rapid adaptation to changing priorities and tight deadlines. The GIS Operations Officer will be responsible for collecting, integrating, analyzing, and visualizing extensive volumes of all-source geospatial and non-geospatial data to generate clear, decision-ready products. Success in this position requires strong technical GIS skills, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to effectively communicate complex information through maps, graphics, and visual products. An active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level with Polygraph is mandatory for consideration.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Journeyman knowledge of GIS, geospatial and imagery analysis, cartography, all-source geospatial analysis, and graphic design and production.
  • Journeyman knowledge of ESRI ArcPro 3.x, Spatial Analyst, Remote View, and various classified imagery access platforms.
  • Journeyman knowledge of Oracle databases, GIS web services, personal and multi-user geodatabases, various vector and raster data formats, NTM and commercial imagery, and NGA products (e.g. CADRG, CIB, and DTED).
  • Understanding of geospatial data formats, projections, coordinate systems, spatial joins, geoprocessing workflows, cartographic principles, and spatial data management.
  • Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL/PostGIS, for storing, querying, and managing spatial or tabular data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance while coordinating effectively across teams, offices, and mission stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable of SQL Developer, VBA, and/or Python programming languages to create custom scripts and tools to automate the extraction, ingestion, processing, and integration of disparate data streams and formats.
  • Proficiency streamlining operation and production workflows.
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

  • Provide geospatial analysis and visualization support to senior U.S. Government intelligence and policymaking stakeholders.
  • Support time-sensitive missions and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and short-deadline tasking.
  • Collect, integrate, analyze, and visualize large volumes of all-source geospatial and non-geospatial data.
  • Produce clear, decision-ready products, including effective maps, graphics, and visual products.
  • Create custom datasets through raster geo-referencing and re-projection, feature extraction and digitization, feature and attribute manipulation, and file format conversion.
  • Design, develop, populate, and maintain all-source geospatial databases.
  • Create advanced mapping, imagery, and visualization products conveying complicated tactical and strategic information.
  • Combine geospatial and temporal information to perform all-source analysis and research.
  • Enhance user connectivity to critical information.

  • Pay transparency range: $102,000.00 - $136,000.00 - $149,600.00 annually, based on experience.
