Performs technical field and office support work for the Information Technology Department in support of a Geographic Information System (GIS) data collection project. Performs field data collection at hotels, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and other multi-unit buildings to verify and document room and sub-address information. Interprets floor plans, maps, and other reference materials to identify and verify building layouts and address information. Marks up paper copies of floor plans and maps to document corrections and updates for incorporation into the County's Geographic Information System (GIS). Enters, updates, and verifies spatial and attribute data using GIS software and web-based mapping applications. Performs quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of collected data. Uses tablets or other digital devices to collect, verify, and update information in ArcGIS Online (AGOL) web applications. Communicates professionally with representatives of participating facilities to obtain information and coordinate field visits. Assists with organizing and maintaining field documentation and project records. Maintains County equipment assigned for field work, including tablets and related accessories. Operates County vehicles to travel to assigned project sites throughout York County. Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and departmental initiatives.
