About The Position

The GIS Developer will design, build, and maintain the geospatial applications, web tools, and mobile workforce solutions that support Fervo Energy’s field and office GIS workflows. The role focuses on developing custom applications, configuring the Esri platform stack, and deploying mobile data collection tools that connect field crews and office teams. The position develops web applications and geospatial workflows, administers mobile GIS applications and platform settings, and supports integrations with enterprise systems. It also includes preparing documentation and training, troubleshooting user issues, and coordinating GIS application development with project schedules and deliverables. The role is based at a Fervo office and offers hybrid flexibility. Team members are expected to work in the office three days per week; regular in-office presence is an essential function of the role.

  • Experience designing GIS workflows for remote or offline field environments.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical application requirements for non-GIS users.
  • Ability to manage multiple development priorities independently in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate emerging Esri platform capabilities and recommend tools suited to Fervo’s project needs.
  • Deploy, configure, and administer mobile workforce applications, including ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce for ArcGIS, and QuickCapture.
  • Design mobile data collection forms, intelligent map packages, and offline areas for remote geothermal project sites.
  • Manage ArcGIS Mobile Worker licenses, user provisioning, device configurations, and application version control.
  • Work with field operations, land, and permitting teams to identify workflow needs and develop mobile solutions that reduce field-to-office data latency.
  • Provide training, documentation, and technical support for field users of mobile GIS applications.
  • Test and validate mobile workflows in offline and low-connectivity conditions representative of remote project sites.
  • Manage ArcGIS Online organizational settings, user roles, groups, licensing, and content governance in coordination with the GIS Data Manager.
  • Develop REST API integrations between the GIS platform and enterprise systems such as SharePoint, project management tools, and asset management databases.
  • Collaborate with the CAD Manager on data exchange workflows and ensure CAD-derived geometry is correctly ingested and published as web-accessible GIS content.
  • Coordinate with the GIS Data Manager on published service schemas, feature layer design, and data update automation.
  • Develop user-facing documentation, training materials, and how-to guides for GIS applications and mobile tools.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS application and mobile tool users across Fervo offices and field sites.
