GIS Cadastral Analyst II - may underfill as GIS Cadastral Analyst I
About The Position
The County Recorder's office is responsible for maintaining official county records, including mortgages, deeds, and other property-related documents. This role involves maintaining up-to-date maps showing current land ownership. Under the general guidance of the GIS Cadastral Supervisor, this position performs technical and analytical work to create, maintain, and update land ownership records, the abstract of these records, and the parcel layer of Utah County’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database. The role involves performing complex duties at a full performance level and providing assistance to Cadastral Mapper I's and II's, as well as others with mapping and recording tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of work experience in a closely related field using ArcMap Software (for GIS Cadastral Analyst II).
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
- Must obtain a Cadastral Mapping Certificate from the Utah Association of County Recorders during the first year in the position.
- Must have successfully passed the Utah County Advanced Cadastral Mapping test (for GIS Cadastral Analyst II).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment.
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Work experience closely related to land title, engineering, surveying, cartography, or GIS.
Responsibilities
- Performs technical and analytical work in creating, maintaining, and updating land ownership records.
- Maintains the abstract of said records.
- Maintains the parcel layer of Utah County’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database.
- Performs the most complex duties within the assigned function.
- Provides assistance to Cadastral Mapper I’s and II’s.
- Assists others with a broad array of mapping and recording work.
