About The Position

The Village of Carol Stream has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and collaborative GIS Analyst with an interest in public service, to join their Information Technology team. This position involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and actively supporting the Village’s Geographic Information System (GIS) with a focus on ESRI platforms. The role supports asset management initiatives, maintains infrastructure data through as-built attribution, and expands the use of GIS to improve operational decision-making and service delivery. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers with a strong foundation in cartographic principles, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a team-oriented, public serving environment. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the design, development, implementation, and administration of a geographical information system
Experience with ESRI GIS platforms
ESRI Technical Certification, GISP certification, or the ability to obtain relevant GIS certifications within a reasonable timeframe
Strong foundation in cartographic principles
Strong communication skills
Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, public serving environment
