About The Position

The Girls Soccer Varsity Assistant Coach plays a vital role in supporting the head coach to develop a competitive and cohesive varsity girls soccer team. This position focuses on enhancing players' technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall athletic performance while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. The assistant coach collaborates closely with the coaching staff to plan and execute training sessions, analyze game performance, and develop strategies that align with the team's goals. Requirements

  • Experience playing or coaching soccer at the high school level or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching team and communicate effectively with student-athletes.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all players.
  • Valid certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain upon hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience coaching girls’ soccer at the varsity level.
  • Coaching certification from recognized organizations such as US Soccer or NFHS.
  • Background in sports psychology or athlete development.
  • Experience in organizing team events and managing administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with video analysis tools and performance tracking software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions that improve individual and team skills.
  • Provide technical instruction and tactical guidance to players during practices and games.
  • Support game-day preparations, including scouting opponents, developing game strategies, and managing substitutions.
  • Mentor student-athletes to encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and academic responsibility.
  • Help maintain equipment, coordinate team logistics such as travel and scheduling, and communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff.
