About The Position

At Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, we build confidence and leadership and help girls across 40 counties in central and western North Carolina realize their full potential. Through our four program pillars — Life Skills, Entrepreneurship. Outdoors and STEM — girls develop a strong sense of self, positive values, a willingness to take on challenges, healthy relationships, and the skills to solve problems in their communities. Behind every badge earned and every experience delivered is a dedicated team committed to helping girls discover their strengths, grow courage and confidence, and make the world a better place. This is a seasonal/on-call facilitator role with hours based on program needs, averaging approximately 10-20 hours per week, primarily during evenings and weekends. The role involves supervising and leading exciting outdoor activities for campers, helping them build confidence and lifelong memories.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years old.
  • Passion for working with youth.
  • Love for the outdoors and willingness to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, sunshine).
  • High-energy and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to lead, teach, and jump into action when needed.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Belief in the Girl Scout mission.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license/vehicle.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat and rain.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Strong swimming ability.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR certification (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead exciting activities for campers.
  • Help campers conquer heights at the Adventure Park & Climbing Wall.
  • Teach focus and precision through Archery.
  • Lead adventures on the water through Boating & Waterfront activities.
  • Teach essential camp skills such as Outdoor Cooking & Skills.
  • Facilitate the Cooperation Course (low-ropes, icebreaker and team building).
  • Help girls achieve their goals through Badge Workshops.
  • Ensure the safety of equipment and people.
