About The Position

This is a full-time position responsible for leading and facilitating the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) Program in an after-school setting. Additional responsibilities for Girl Scout Program Support will be identified for performance outside the academic year when after-school meetings are not occurring. GSLE Program Details: Operates at 8 school-sites, meeting bi-monthly for two hours at a different school each day. Additional sessions or meeting types may be added based on enrollment. Facilitators are compensated for preparing, leading, and concluding program activities. Requires attendance at a bi-monthly all-staff meeting (approximately one hour each). Coordinators must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to each program session. Position Overview: The GSLE Program Coordinator creates a positive, engaging environment where youth can develop leadership skills through Girl Scout programming. This role requires strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills, along with a passion for working with youth.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States
  • Willingness and ability to pass a background check
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation and ability to commute to assigned school site
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Girl Scouts of Hawai‘i
  • Must become a registered adult member of Girl Scouts USA (Reimbursable)
  • Energetic, trustworthy, and committed to the values of Girl Scouting
  • Enjoy working with school-aged children
  • Independent and innovative thinker and problem solver who thrives in a team environment, is willing to tackle new challenges, and is able to manage multiple assignments while meeting specific deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Basic understanding of youth development and age-appropriate practices
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, child development, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in childcare, youth education, or after-school programming
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification
  • Experience facilitating group activities or leading youth programs
  • Ability to develop engaging lesson plans or activities
  • Strong knowledge of Hawaiian culture and language

Responsibilities
