About The Position

As a Ginna's Cafe Associate at Scheels, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of food and drink items, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for customer sale. This role involves performing all functions within the Barista, Café, and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop, which may include working the deli line, food case, barista station, grill, ice cream, baked goods, and fudge. You will maintain a working knowledge of Café recipes and prepared foods, meet production deadlines, and adhere to all food safety guidelines and Scheels' Standard Operating Guidelines for receiving and storing products. The position also requires following Scheels Cashier Guidelines for Café registers, managing side work, stocking, cleaning schedules, and opening/closing procedures. Maintaining an orderly and clean workspace, including dining areas, is essential. The role involves performing repetitive fudge production processes and requires the ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees, read operating manuals, and work an assigned schedule that may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school education, or up to one month of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Prepare different types of food, drinks, and ingredients, including candy, baked goods, and fudge, for sale to customers
Perform all Barista, Café, and Fuzziwigs Candy Shop functions, which may include deli line, food case, barista, grill, ice cream, baked goods, fudge, and other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Supervisor
Maintain working knowledge of Café recipes, beverages, and prepared foods
Meet deadlines for fudge production and customer requests
Follow all food safety guidelines by Scheels, State, and Local Ordinances
Ensure all products are received and stored according to Standard Operating Guidelines
Ensure Scheels Cashier Guidelines are followed as it pertains to Café registers
Manage and support side work, stocking, daily and detailed cleaning schedules, including machines and equipment, and opening and closing procedures
Maintain an orderly and exceptionally clean appearance of personal workspace and surrounding areas, including dining areas
Must be able to perform repetitive fudge production processes, which include stirring, pulling, and cutting
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals
Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
