About The Position

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is seeking a qualified candidate for a Site Manager Consultant role within the Giga initiative, a joint ITU/UNICEF project aimed at connecting every school to the internet and every young person to information and opportunity. The Giga initiative is headquartered in a large office space at Campus Biotech, where ITU and UNICEF colleagues collaborate. The consultant will be responsible for the operational management of the Giga Connectivity Centre, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, supporting logistical needs, and acting as a primary point of contact for various operational matters.

Requirements

  • University degree in hospitality, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a site or service operations role.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a leading role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizational and planning skills and the ability to timely follow up on identified issues.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and in accessible, audience-appropriate language.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Basic technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment and event-related technologies.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and innovation, with the capacity to respond effectively to evolving technical and operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of French at an advanced level.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first-line on-site contact for operational matters, including security, facilities, and IT/IS systems, ensuring adherence to Giga procedures, reporting incidents, and coordinating actions.
  • Support the logistical organization of meetings, events, and workshops, including room bookings, space preparation, and refreshment coordination.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the office, managing inventory, ordering and distributing supplies, and monitoring replenishment.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of IT assets and furniture.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners for operational needs, coordinating mail, courier services, deliveries, and managing calls.
  • Act as the operational point of contact for facility-related service providers and the building landlord, monitoring service delivery and reporting issues.
  • Conduct regular checks of the premises and common areas to identify and follow up on irregularities, cleanliness issues, or operational concerns, and maintain basic operational records.
  • Support contract management and procurement coordination for facilities and site services, monitoring service providers and collaborating with the procurement office.
  • Undertake reception and front desk operations, serving as the first point of contact for visitors and staff, ensuring compliance with security and access control procedures.
