About The Position

The Gig Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide is responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. Similar to a gig model, the Care Guide will be able to control flexibility of preferred shifts/locations and create a schedule that work for them. There is no minimum number of hours needed to work but it is limited to less than 30 hours per week. The Gig Care Guide will be paid an hourly rate on regular pay dates. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their “secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit. The Gig Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate, the Gig Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • LPN License
  • American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented
  • Knowledge of Epic
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in a clinical service
  • Previous experience with an electronic health record
  • Experience with injections, minor procedure assistance
