About The Position

The Reynoldsburg City Schools’ Gifted Intervention Specialist is responsible for identifying, supporting, and delivering services to gifted students in accordance with Ohio law and district policy. This includes direct instruction, consultation, collaboration, and instructional leadership to ensure academic, cognitive, and social-emotional needs of gifted students are met through differentiation, enrichment, and acceleration within inclusive educational environments.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio Gifted Intervention Specialist License or Endorsement
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of Ohio gifted education laws, rules, and procedures
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Gifted Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
  • Experience serving gifted students in K–12 public schools
  • Experience with curriculum differentiation, enrichment models, and acceleration strategies
  • Training or experience with MTSS, data-driven instruction, and inclusive practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with administrators, school psychologists, teachers, and families to screen, evaluate, assess, and identify students for giftedness using state-approved tools
  • Maintain accurate records related to identification, assessment, and eligibility in compliance with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) and district guidelines
  • Communicate assessment results and recommendations to all stakeholders
  • Plan and deliver instruction aligned to Ohio Learning Standards and best practices in gifted education
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide differentiation, enrichment, and acceleration
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support embedded enrichment in classrooms
  • Establish a safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment
  • Provide modeling, coaching, and consultation to classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families, educators, and support staff regarding student progress
  • Attend MTSS meetings, gifted meetings, and other school/district committees as required
  • Consult on development and implementation of Written Education Plans (WEPs) and/or Written Acceleration Plans (WAPs) for gifted students
  • Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret academic and social-emotional data
  • Make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes for gifted students
  • Report student progress to families and administrators
  • Implement gifted education policies and procedures per Ohio law and RCS guidelines
  • Attend required district professional development and meetings
