Job Summary The Gift Shop Coordinator oversees the daily operations of Nightingale’s Gift Shop, including inventory control, product ordering, financial tracking, volunteer coordination, and customer service. This role supports hospital auxiliary efforts and contributes to a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in retail, inventory management, customer service, or cash handling
  • Ability to balance sales, handle cash, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with volunteers and staff
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • High school education or GED required with emphasis in business and office occupations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in retail, inventory management, or customer service is highly desirable
  • H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge / experience is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable handling financial transactions and balancing books.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with volunteers, auxiliary members, and staff.
  • Ability to manage inventory, place orders, and track deliveries.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily gift shop operations, including opening and closing procedures and securing the store
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely product availability
  • Balance daily sales, reconcile cash, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on sales performance, inventory, and financial activity
  • Collaborate with auxiliary members on promotions, special events, and seasonal sales
  • Work with the Volunteer Services Coordinator to support volunteer scheduling and engagement
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment
  • Plan and promote sales events and seasonal merchandise displays
  • Monitor inventory levels, track product usage, and ensure stock is adequate for customer demand. Order new stock, track deliveries, and maintain accurate records.
  • Work with suppliers to place orders and ensure timely delivery. Maintain an organized inventory system and attractive product displays.
  • Balance books daily, record sales, track cash flow, and ensure financial accuracy. Handle cash and reconcile sales transactions.
  • Collaborate with hospital auxiliary members for special events, promotions, and sales. Work with the Volunteer Services Coordinator to manage volunteer schedules.
  • Provide exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff, assisting with product selection and offering recommendations.
  • Plan sales events, create attractive displays, and promote seasonal items to encourage sales.
  • Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, secure the store, and maintain organized records for reporting.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports summarizing sales, inventory, and financial performance.
