About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting customers with merchandise, processing sales, maintaining the gift shop's appearance, and performing various operational duties. The role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a retail environment within a casino setting.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Six (6) months retail experience
Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities.
Must be eighteen (18) years of age for Arizona properties and twenty-one (21) years of age for New Mexico properties.
No felony, theft or stealing convictions.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license.
Knowledge of retail operations.
Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
Knowledge of cash handling.
Knowledge of casino operations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

Greets guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner offering assistance with merchandise as requested.
Displays merchandise in a tasteful manner, suggests selections to meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article; demonstrates use of merchandise, if applicable.
Prepares sales slip and receives payment for merchandise purchased.
Reconciles and balances cash drawer at end of shift.
Helps remove tags or labels from purchased merchandise if requested by customer.
Places new merchandise on display; ensures all displays are well stocked and prices are marked as required.
Requisitions merchandise from stockroom.
Prepares forms for employee consignments. Sells and records any consignment sale.
Maintains cleanliness and order in gift shop by cleaning shelves, counters, and tables.
Exchanges merchandise for customers and accept returns according to established policies and procedures.
Keeps track of merchandise issued to authorized personnel or promotional activities.
Observes behavior of customers entering gift shop; reports suspicious behavior to supervisor or security.
Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
Assists in researching new items to compliment the gift shop and guests.
Assist in working with artists for setting up consignment agreements.
Assists with inventory during the first of each month.
Performs other duties as required.
