About The Position

The Gift Planning Associate must be highly organized, flexible, and able to prioritize workload and assignments as the position requires working as part of a team and providing administrative and/or program support to Gift Planning Fundraisers by producing gift calculations, drafting donor correspondence, and properly recording planned gifts. The Gift Planning Associate will be responsible for various activities, including drafting correspondence and acknowledgements, assisting in timely asset transfer, performing financial calculations, and processing and recording planned gifts (bequests, charitable gift annuities, deferred gift annuities, flexible deferred gift annuities, pooled income funds, charitable remainder trusts and gifts of real estate). They will provide technical knowledge and information related to planned gift vehicles (both revocable and irrevocable). They provide expertise related to gift entry for all planned gifts using planned giving specific procedures and processes that require detailed knowledge of these gift vehicles and how they are entered into CRM to ensure accurate reporting. They will act as the main support for all gift planning fundraising teams. They may provide program information to prospects and donors, assist with writing proposals, and donor research. The Associate uses the available fundraising management system to produce donor reports, perform analysis and research, and track prospects and donors and is responsible for the organization of gift records. They apply established processes and practices in order to improve effectiveness. The Associate may have substantial contact with staff, donors, legal and financial professionals. They will provide other staff with information they need to make decisions and solve problems. They will perform administrative functions, as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Experience building relationships with staff, customers, vendors, or similar
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data
  • Experience working across teams
  • Experience working with databases
