About The Position

Blackhawk Network, a global leader in gift card and payments, is seeking experienced Merchandisers for their team in Ottawa West, ON. This is a part-time employee position, not a contractor role, offering consistent work throughout the year. Merchandisers are responsible for ensuring gift card fixtures are full, in-stock, and organized according to plan-o-grams across various retailers. The role involves packing out product, setting to plan-o-grams, reporting out-of-stock items, placing shelf tags, conducting resets, and installing new fixtures. Building relationships with retail management and providing customer guidance on product lines are also key aspects of the job. The company offers annual performance and merit reviews, contests, incentive programs, newsletters, referral programs, and a supportive management team.

Requirements

Merchandising and/or retail experience
Work 25-35 hours on average per week (hours can vary during peak times of year)
Able to travel 50-80 kilometers radius around home market
Experience with computers, smart phones, iPads, etc.
Must own home computer and have internet access
Excellent communication skills
Ability to be flexible and work in fast-pace environment
Strong work ethic, be pro-active and ability to overcome obstacles
If driving, must have valid license, insurance and excellent driving record
Successful completion of driving record and criminal background checks

Responsibilities

Complete all assigned projects within designated territory
Participate in weekly conference calls
Complete all call report questions and take pictures with your smartphone or tablet
Build and develop strong relationships/partnerships with retail store management at each account
Complete all types of merchandising activities including installs (set and build), resets (read and understand Plan-o-grams), new item cut-ins, and signage placement
Conduct out-of-stock reports, inventories and process returns
Perform audits
Cover stores outside of designated territory on an as needed basis and/or vacation coverage
Ability to use web portal reporting systems from wireless tablet/phone
