The GI Technician role at Cooper University Health Care involves preparing and cleaning endoscopic equipment, maintaining inventory, ensuring equipment functionality, and assisting physicians and nurses during procedures. This position also includes patient transport, specimen collection, collaboration with care providers, and staying updated on endoscopy developments. Additionally, the role may involve business office support, including training on EPIC applications, front desk registration, and copay collection. The GI Technician will work in outpatient units at Mt. Laurel and Willingboro, and potentially the inpatient/outpatient Special Test Unit (STU) in the main hospital, serving diagnostic and therapeutic needs for the Gastroenterology Division. Common procedures include upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy (in STU). Staff includes surgical schedulers, patient service representatives, nurses, GI technicians, and anesthesiology support.
