About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician I has either no experience in endoscopy or is a novice in the endoscopy setting. The technician assists the nurses and physicians in providing care for the endoscopy patient. They must complete competencies for all basic GI procedures and scope reprocessing. The Technician also supports the area with duties that include, but are not limited to preparation of the procedure room and sterile field to ensure a safe patient care environment including gathering all required instruments and supplies and serving as an endoscopy procedure assistant. The job also includes transportation of patients and equipment, stocking/maintaining supplies, care and maintenance of endoscopes and their accessories contributing to the daily functions of the unit. They have strong sense of infection control in the GI setting.

Requirements

  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
  • SGNA-GTS - SGNA GI Tech Specialist or SGNA-GTS-P - SGNA GI Tech Specialist - Provisional (90 Days) within 90 Days
  • 1 year experience
