About The Position

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused GI Technician to join our Gastrointestinal (GI) Lab team. The GI Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians, nurses, and patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with procedures, preparing equipment and supplies, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and infection prevention. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced procedural setting and is committed to providing an outstanding patient experience.

Requirements

  • High School or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience required, hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
  • BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal and endoscopic procedures.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies before each case.
  • Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and other procedural equipment according to established guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Transport and position patients safely and comfortably for procedures.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and notify leadership of shortages.
  • Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
  • Support patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
  • Ensure procedural areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment processing and quality controls.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Respond effectively to the needs of patients, families, and healthcare team members.
