About The Position

CIMA+ is seeking a Principal Telecommunications Manager to lead its specialized team in active and passive network infrastructure (outside networks, FTTH). In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the management, mobilization, development, and growth of the team, while ensuring excellence in project execution and business development with our clientele. As a Principal Manager, you will contribute to defining the team's vision and direction, supporting talent development, and fostering a collaborative, innovative, and performance-oriented work environment. In addition to your management responsibilities, you will provide technical leadership in the planning, design, and execution of telecommunications projects. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, identifying business opportunities, and contributing to the sector's growth. You will also play a technical leadership role in the execution of strategic projects, ensuring the quality of proposed solutions and supporting teams in mandate execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications engineering.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Engineering experience in projects with Hydro-Québec.
  • In-depth knowledge of active networks such as telecommunications equipment, and outside telecommunications networks (fiber optics, FTTH, backbone).
  • Proven experience in technical project management.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English: bilingualism is essential for this position.
  • Integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in design tools and specialized software (AutoCAD, GIS, etc.).
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience in large-scale deployment projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mobilize, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, professionals, and technicians, fostering skills development, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients, act as a strategic account manager, and actively contribute to business development and the preparation of service offerings.
  • Define the technical direction of complex telecommunications projects and act as a technical reference for teams and clients.
  • Ensure technical supervision of engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with standards, best practices, quality requirements, and cost and schedule objectives.
  • Support the team in planning, risk management, multidisciplinary coordination, and resolution of technical or operational issues.
  • Participate in design reviews and intervene on the most complex technical aspects of projects, primarily in outside network infrastructure (active and passive).
  • Represent CIMA+ with clients, partners, suppliers, and industry bodies, contributing to the company's visibility and market positioning.
  • Participate in the development of sector business plans, identification of new market opportunities, and growth of telecommunications activities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence within the team.
