About The Position

This is a Teacher Certified Position for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves planning, organizing, and delivering instruction that supports high expectations for all students, and supervising students and instructional assistants. The teacher will create a positive learning climate, implement curriculum, and maintain classroom behavior. Evaluation of student progress will be done through various methods, and the teacher will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and identifying pupil needs. Professional responsibilities include attendance, participation in meetings and committees, and a commitment to professional growth and development. Collaboration with peers, students, and parents is essential, as is adherence to ethical standards and the use of technology. The teacher will also supervise instructional assistants and volunteers, and engage in self-evaluation for professional development.

Requirements

  • Kentucky certificate, license, or other legal credential required
  • Experience and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and deliver programs of instruction that support the premise of high expectations for all students
  • Supervises students, instructional, and/or clerical assistants
  • Demonstrates proficiency in planning developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction that addresses Kentucky's learning goals and outcomes for students
  • Creates and maintains a learning climate that supports student learning outcomes
  • Implements developmentally appropriate, teaching and learning activities that will implement the curriculum
  • Assists in the administration in implementing Board policies, and administrative regulations, and school rules governing student life and conduct, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure
  • Evaluates specific teaching/learning situations and communicates to students and others (documents, progress through anecdotal records, student-teacher conferences, and portfolios)
  • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
  • Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems
  • Performs professional responsibilities and duties as outlined in Board policy, such as regular attendance, punctuality, attending staff meetings, serving on committees, and accepts a share of responsibility for extra-curricular activities, in-service education and professional growth
  • Demonstrates effective collaboration skills among peers, subordinates, supervisors, students, and parents
  • Demonstrates teaching conduct consistent with missions to which school council, local Board, and State Board for Elementary and Secondary Education are committed
  • Plans and supervises purposefully for instructional assistants and volunteers and cooperatively with department heads of leaders, instructional and guidance facilitators, evaluates his/her job performance
  • Evaluates own overall performance to model/teacher keeps learning goals and implements a program of professional development
  • Promotes self-discipline and self-control
  • Aids in the administration of group standardized tests in accordance with the district or state regulations
  • Utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as outlined at the school/district
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance
  • Adheres to the professional code of ethics
  • Successfully utilizes technology as appropriate in job function
  • Performs any other such duties as so designed by the immediate supervisor/Principal
