About The Position

Provide interpretation services for students and families for school meetings. This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support students/families during meetings and conferences. The position is for the 2026/2027 School Year and is PRN On Call in Conroe, Texas. It is an in-person only role.

Requirements

• Professional fluency in English and German
• Experience providing interpretation in professional, educational, healthcare, or community settings
• Ability to pass Simulated Interpretation Exercise
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately in real time
• Ability to pass background screening appropriate for school-aged populations
• Educational Context Training includes FERPA confidentiality protocol. A signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before any placement.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual education degree or linguistics background
• National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program
• ATA (American Translators Association) membership or certification
• CCHI or CoreCHI certification, NBCMI certification
• Experience working in school-based or educational settings
• Familiarity with IEP environments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication, organization, and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and related service providers to support student success and IEP goals
• Support communication during meetings, assessments, and other school activities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of interpreting
