About The Position

The Geriatric Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) provides leadership and oversight for nursing staff within the Memory Care Program, Older Adults Clinic, and UR Geriatric Telepsychiatry Program. Working closely with practice managers, clinic leads, Nurse Manager, and the Medical Director, the ANM ensures smooth clinic operations. Key responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, coordinating patient care, managing referrals, assisting in the development of clinic schedules, and serving as a resource for programs and initiatives. The ANM actively participates in relevant meetings and adjusts responsibilities to align with evolving clinic needs.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years RN experience in Psychiatry or Geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in the delivery of patient care.
  • Supports activities at the service, nursing practice, and institutional level, and contributes to goal achievement through personal action and the facilitation of others.
  • Participates in community and professional organizations, demonstrating commitment to the promotion of nursing's visibility and future.
  • Provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service.
  • Participates in the management of human resources, the development and evaluation of recruitment and retention strategies, and the monitoring of patient outcomes.
  • May have responsibilities at the unit, program or service level and may assume an expanded role as assigned by leadership.
