About The Position
The Geri-Psych Coordinator is responsible for the initial contact with patients for admission to WRH Behavioral Health Care Units. This role involves preadmission assessment of clinical status, evaluation of patient needs (Medical Clearance, Insurance Clearance, Psychiatric Clearance), and serving as an educational resource for patients, families, hospitals, and healthcare professionals. The coordinator also acts as a liaison between the WRH Emergency department and Behavioral Health Care Units, actively assisting referring facilities with mental health patient requirements, and establishing relationships with community and healthcare facilities while providing education across the continuum of WRH Behavioral Health Care Units.

Responsibilities
- Initial contact with patients for admission to WRH Behavioral Health Care Units
- Preadmission assessment of the clinical status of patient referrals and evaluations of patient's needs: Medical Clearance, Insurance Clearance, Psychiatric Clearance.
- Serves as an educational resource for patients, families, hospitals and healthcare professionals upon admission to WRH Mental Health Care Units.
- Liaison between WRH Emergency department and Behavioral Health Care Units.
- Actively assist the referring facilities in addressing requirements of mental health patients to WRH Behavioral Health Care Units.
- Establish relationships with community and healthcare facilities, provides education across the continuum of WRH Behavioral Health Care Units.
