Requirements
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Geotechnical Field Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to travel between job sites and office/lab (mileage, tolls & parking reimbursed).
Nice To Haves
- Green Infrastructure project experience and permeability testing is a plus
- Previous internship experience a plus.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification – plus.
- OSHA 10-hr or 40-hr HAZWOPER training – plus.
- Experience with RSLog or gINT– plus.
- Previous internship or field experience in geotechnical engineering – plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical field investigations, explorations, geologic reconnaissance, and site mapping.
- Prepare geotechnical field boring logs, soil and rock sampling, and field permeability testing.
- Support geotechnical laboratory testing and analysis.
- Perform basic engineering calculations, data interpretation, and technical analysis.
- Assist in preparing geotechnical reports and project documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors in the field to complete scope-of-work activities.
- Travel to field assignments throughout NJ, NY, PA, and CT; occasional overnight stays may be required.
- Work in alignment with construction schedules, which may require early morning, evening, and overnight field work.
