About The Position

The Geotechnical Summer Intern is responsible for various field, laboratory and engineering tasks needed to support the geotechnical group throughout regions where we do business. Experience is likely to be gained through various PennDOT projects. Could be located in New Cumberland, King of Prussia, or Pittsburgh.

Requirements

• Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or other related field.
• Capable of using Civil Design software such as Microstation and/or AutoCAD as well as Microsoft office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Nice To Haves

• Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities, development of engineering reports and drawings.
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
• Compile and organize engineering and laboratory data for use in reports.
• Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by or approved by your supervisor upon request.
