We are looking to expand our Geotechnical Design Group with a Geotechnical Design Engineer based in our Baltimore, MD location. We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineer who is capable of developing a design and implementing that design through reports, drawings, specifications, and construction phase services. The position reports a portion of time to the office, part remote and part on site. This is considered primarily an office position; however, the applicant shall be prepared for various field assignments throughout their career. The position includes providing geotechnical designs and performing analysis for various transportation, water/wastewater, marine, and site development projects. Projects are primarily municipal or governmental in natures of both design bid build and design build format.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree specializing in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline (master’s degree preferred)
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT)
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience
  • Field experience relating to site grading and foundation construction, highly desired
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Recommending and analyzing various foundation options for buildings, bridges, retaining walls along with other non-standard structures.
  • Adapting designs to the needs of both municipal owner and design build contractor clients.
  • Preparing cohesive reports, developing project specific specifications, and geotechnical details.
  • Performing field engineering services including borings inspection, deep foundation inspection, and field consultations.
