About The Position

EBA is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team and help deliver innovative solutions for transportation, water, site development, and public infrastructure projects. From field explorations and geotechnical analyses to foundation design and construction support, you will play a key role in projects that improve communities across the Mid-Atlantic. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Maryland licensure required or must be obtained through reciprocity within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Strong technical knowledge of and expertise in geotechnical engineering principles and practices
  • Proven track record of successfully collaborating and managing geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen and client relationship management skills
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; walking over rough and uneven terrain; standing for up to 12 hours a day on occasion; bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting; using hands to grasp and reach; raising hands above the head; sitting; climbing; and balancing.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
  • Pre-employment drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or knowledge of environmental consulting services such as due diligence, industrial hygiene, compliance, engineering design, and/or remediation/mitigation

Responsibilities

  • Performing geotechnical engineering analyses including soil and rock evaluation, immediate and consolidation settlement, slope stability, ground improvement, and earth retention systems; shallow and deep foundation design; pavement design; and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Preparing geotechnical engineering reports, plans, specifications, memoranda, special provisions, contract documents, cost estimates, and other related deliverables.
  • Conducting and reviewing geotechnical tests, including soil classification and compaction, concrete, and hot mix asphalt tests.
  • Providing construction phase support.
  • Conducting and overseeing subsurface investigations, including drilling, sampling, field testing, and site reconnaissance.
  • Supporting project delivery through proposal preparation, project planning, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, execution, quality control, and safety management.
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, public agencies, and project teams to develop and implement geotechnical solutions.
