About The Position

Campos EPC is expanding and seeking a Geotechnical Engineer I. The primary role of the Geotechnical Engineer is the design and execution of geotechnical projects. The incumbent performs field geotechnical explorations and investigations, reviews soils laboratory test results, and performs analysis and design of geotechnical data and projects.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relatable experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • FE required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with applicable software applications.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients.

Nice To Haves

  • PE highly preferred.
  • Experience on engineering, procurement, and construction projects desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis, karst evaluation, etc.
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations.
  • Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability.
  • Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
  • Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.
  • Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time.
  • Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects.
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.
  • Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.
  • Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.
  • Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.
