About The Position

Requirements

Bachelors in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering required.
Professional engineer (PE) license in New Jersey, New York, or Massachusetts required.
5-8 years of experience in engineering consultancy (not including education).
Proficient in the use of structural software: STRAND7, SAP, STAAD or equivalent.
Proficient in the use of geotechnical software, such as Plaxis, GeoStudio packages/Slide, Rocscience packages, geotechnical data management (GINT/Holebase).
Demonstrable record in design with experience in geotechnical engineering, ground characterization for soil and rock, and a working knowledge of concrete, steel, and foundation design.
Strong references from past managers or clients.
Interest in underground design and construction for the transport, water, or wastewater sectors.

Nice To Haves

Masters in a related field is preferred.
NCTI Certified is preferred.
A working knowledge of BIM tools (Bentley/Autodesk) would also be advantageous.
Multidisciplinary working experience would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of existing geotechnical projects in the U.S. and Canada.
Oversight of staff and execution of field investigation programs to collect data for design, condition assessments, and report preparation.
Contribution to detailed analyses for projects involving tunnels and underground structures.
Development of field instrumentation programs and evaluation of collected data.
Management of staff producing design solutions, reports, and contributions to/reviews of specifications and drawings.
Writing reports for client submission, including design-related technical memoranda and reports.
Direct client engagement with guidance from senior management, including liaising with clients, responding to queries, and attending design and progress meetings.
Contribution to and preparation of proposals for client submission.
Ability to lay out/develop a design program and independently manage a team of staff.
Managing and mentoring junior/graduate engineers and supporting their development.
